2nd Art Chop! will take place during the Georgetown Carnival June 14th, 2025
What it is:
- Artists will go head-to-head in a high stakes battle to create art on the fly. You will race against the clock, incorporate surprise materials into works of art and showcase your creativity under pressure.
- Each artist will be given a basket containing mystery materials and will be expected to create a work of art using those materials. Artists will also have access to traditional art supplies, such as but not limited to canvas’, paint, glue, pencils, rulers, scissors (etc).
- Each round will have a limited time allotment. 15 minutes, with winners from each heat competing in a Grand finale.
- All rounds will be judged by a panel of three. The Judges will look for presentation, use of materials and artistic flair. Only ONE ARTIST will emerge as the ultimate champion.
- All of the art created will be auctioned off to support the Georgetown Arts & Culture Association. Winning artists will also receive a portion of the proceeds and fabulous prizes from local merchants.

Rules
If you win a group heat, you must be available at 5:00pm for the Grand Finale.
You cannot bring any materials with you.
You must use 75% of the Mystery Box materials.
You must grant permission for your art to be auctioned off to benefit the Georgetown Arts & Culture Association and used on social media to promote Georgetown.
Framework of Art Chop!
Art Chop! runs in 3 groups; each group will consist of 3 artists, with one winner from each group.
The 3 group winners will compete in the Grand Chop Finale at 5:00pm.
There will be 3 judges from the Georgetown Arts Community.
Anjanette Hewitt, an artist at Fogue Studios, will MC the event.
1st Group
12:30pm check in at booth in Stables parking lot.
1:00pm 1st Heat starts with 20 minutes to create.
1:30pm One artist is eliminated.
5-minute break for next heat
1:40pm 2nd Heat remaining 2 artists with 15 minutes
2:00pm Winner from Group 1 is named.
15-minute break and clean up prep for next group.
2nd Group
2:15pm check in at Stables booth.
2:30pm 1st Heat starts with 20 minutes to create.
2:50pm One artist is eliminated.
5-minute break for next heat
3:00pm 2nd Heat remaining 2 artists with 15 minutes.
3:30pm Winner from Group 2 is named.
15-minute break and clean up prep for next group.
3rd Group
3:45pm check in at Stables Booth / Parking Lot.
4:00pm 1st Heat starts with 20 minutes to create.
4:20pm One artist is eliminated.
5-minute break for next heat.
4:25pm 2nd Heat remaining 2 artists with 15 minutes.
4:40pm Winner from Group 3 is named.
15-minute break to set up for Finale and get all three winners gathered.
Art Chop! Finale

Only 1 heat between the 3 Group Winners.
Artists will be asked to build on the art you created in your winning round.
Artists will be given a mystery box.
Artists will have 20 minutes.
