CALL FOR ARTISTS
Georgetown “Football Is Life” Mini Murals
Georgetown is welcoming the world.
In celebration of Seattle hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the Georgetown Welcomes the World Committee invites artists to create bold, outdoor mini murals that capture the energy, culture, and connection of the game of soccer.
The project is sponsored by the Georgetown Association of Arts & Culture and the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture.
THEME
Football Is Life
Interpret broadly—community, movement, joy, and global connection through what we call soccer.
OPPORTUNITY
- Up to 5 artists selected
- Murals installed at high-visibility locations in the Airport Way business corridor
- Artists will collaborate with the Georgetown Welcomes the World committee on final placement
STIPEND
$300 per mural
(Artists provide all materials)
MURAL REQUIREMENTS
- Size: 3 ft x 4 ft or 4 ft x 8 ft plywood (can combine 3’ x 4’ sections to make larger mural)
- Minimum thickness: ⅜” inch (not to exceed ½”)
- Must be fully weatherproofed and sealed
- Designed for outdoor display
INSTALLATION & LOGISTICS
- Artists are responsible for:
- Delivering mural to installation site
- Ensuring work is ready to hang
- Display period:
June 6 – July 30 - Artists must pick up artwork after July 30
(Unclaimed murals will be recycled)
TIMELINE
- Application deadline: May 8
- Artist notification: May 15
- Installation window: May 27 – June 2 (preferred)
- Final deadline: June 6
- Activation begins: June 10

- Emerging artists & youth
- Collaborative or community-based teams
All experience levels welcome.
