Creative Education Week Grant Application – CLOSED

Overview:

The Georgetown Arts & Culture Association is seeking grant proposals from individual teaching artists and educators to provide classes to Georgetown residents during the first week of October. Classes may either be the teaching of a creative skill by an artist or team or the teaching of business skills necessary in running a creative business.  

GTACA will assist in marketing and scheduling as necessary.

Examples of potential classes include blacksmithing, oil painting, frame or crate building, improv, website building, branding, grant writing, etc. 

Guidelines:

Grant awards can be requested for amounts between $500 and $3,000. Proposals will be reviewed by the Georgetown Arts & Culture Association and chosen based on the best match to the Evaluation Criteria defined below.

Funding can be used to cover instructor’s fees, including preparation time, materials, and venue rental fees if applicable.

Evaluation Criteria:
  • Feasibility – Demonstrated ability by applicant to accomplish the project and evidence of clear and thoughtful planning.
  • Public Benefit – Ability of the project to provide enriching public engagement.
  • Equity – Potential of the project to engage underserved or underrepresented members of the Georgetown community.
  • Educational Merit – Benefit to students for professional development.
Timeline:
  • August 10th, 2023 – This call opens for applications. 
  • September 1st, 2023 – Application call closes.
  • October 1st-7th, 2023 – Classes to take place.
  • October 10th, 2023 – Final reports and surveys are due from grantees. Payments will be made upon receipt of the final report and survey.
