Formed in 2023, The Georgetown Association of Arts and Culture (GTAAC) supports artistic and cultural participation in our historic neighborhood by advancing creative opportunities, advocating for our creative economy, and strengthening important networks for the residents, arts professionals, and cultural organizations of Georgetown. GTAAC is a 501(c)3 non-profit. We organize multiple annual events in the neighborhood and work closely with the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Georgetown Coalition in serving our residents, artists, and businesses. We are excited to invite an Executive Director to join our team as we continue to establish and grow our organization.

The Position

The Executive Director is responsible for tasks associated with operations, marketing, and administration of the organization, working closely with board, contractors, and volunteers. In addition, they will collaborate with the board on long-range and strategic planning. This is a newly created part-time position and offers the opportunity for systems building, leadership, and growth.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and will handle the following key responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Leadership, Coordination, and Operations

  • Lead operations as GTAAC transitions to a sustainable model with healthy ED/Board working relationship
  • Strategize and implement GTAAC’s operational processes
  • Collaborate closely with Board of Directors
  • Coordinate with committee chairs and key volunteers
  • Manage financial operations for GTAAC including bookkeeping and filing of all city, state, and federal taxes and licenses

Development

  • Manage the continued development of GTAAC’s funding sources, including:
  • Outreach to existing and potential donors and sponsors
  • Cultivating corporate and large donors
  • Oversee grant writing applications and reports, ensuring compliance

Communications and Marketing

  • Acts as representative of GTAAC and create and maintain strong connections with the community
  • Develop strategic partnerships with external organizations
  • Ensure that external communications and marketing are consistent with GTAAC’s mission and brand
  • Facilitate regular updates to website and social media (develop marketing calendar)

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively, be detail-oriented and a fast learner with good time management skills. They will also have the ability to foster positive working relationships with the board, staff, volunteers, vendors, and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in most or all of the following areas:

  • Non-profit organization management, including working with a board of directors
  • Budget management and bookkeeping (Quickbooks experience preferred)
  • Development, including grant writing
  • Marketing and social media
  • Graphic design and print production
  • Volunteer management
  • Event production and marketing
  • Database management
  • Familiarity with the Seattle performing and visual arts community preferred

Compensation

This is a contractor position. The pay will be $12,000 annually ($1,000 per month, based on an expectation of 5-10 hours of work per week). This is primarily a remote work position with some on-site responsibilities. Hours are flexible, but some evenings and weekends will be required, especially around event dates. Candidates must be available to start on or before June 1, 2026.
